Taking Out the Trash: Team Doña Josefa Conducts Waste Assessment and Characterization Survey

From March 2-4, 2023, Team Doña Josefa conducted a Waste Assessment and Characterization Survey (WACS) on all puroks of Barangay Doña Josefa. The aim of this survey was to evaluate and estimate the waste produced and to determine the type or kind of waste produced. The results of the survey will provide the baseline information for developing a 10-year Solid Waste Management Plan for the Local Government Unit.

WACS is an essential tool for monitoring and evaluating the performance of solid waste management programs and activities. Through this survey, the LGU will be able to know how much solid waste is generated and what these wastes are composed of. This information is crucial in developing effective and sustainable solid waste management strategies.
