HEALTH PROBLEM

High prevalence of uncontrolled hypertension among hypertensive individuals aged 20 years and above in Barangay Dona Josefa.


CUES:

According to the primary survey conducted last August to September 2022:

  1. 37% of morbidity among non-communicable disease is hypertension

  2. 74 out of 683 individuals (11%) aged 20 years and above have been diagnosed with hypertension.

  3. 45 out of 74 (61%) hypertensive individuals have uncontrolled hypertension.


GENERAL OBJECTIVES:

To reduce the number of individuals with uncontrolled hypertension among adults aged 20 years and above from 61% to 10% by the year 2025 in Barangay Dona Josefa.

Improper Solid Waste Segregation in Barangay Dona Josefa.


Cues:

  • 79 out of 250 (32%) households do practice waste segregation

  • 246 out of 250 (98%) do not have compost pits at home

  • 44 out of 250 (18%) households practice open dumping

  •  40.41% of waste generated are Recyclables.

  •  1 existing Material Recovery Facility available.

  •   No garbage collection from the Municipal dump truck schedule exists.

  •   No existing Vermicomposting Facility available in the barangay.

General Objectives:

  • To increase the number of households practicing proper solid waste segregation from 32% to 75% in Barangay Dona Josefa, Ipil by the year 2025.

CUES:

  • 206 (82%) out of 250 households have sanitary toilet facility in which:

  1. 182 (72%) have their own sanitary toilet facility

  2. 47 (18%) have shared sanitary toilet facility

  3. 2 (0.80%) have public sanitary toilet facility

  • 53 (21%) out of 250 households have incomplete structure

  • 18 (7%) out of 250 households practice open defecation or without sanitation facilities

  • 19 (7%) out of 250 households with no septic tanks

  • 12 (4.78%) out of 250 households with no water-sealed toilet bowls

  • 44 (18%) out of 250 households with no toilet bowls

  • Philippine Approach to Sustainable Sanitation (PhATSS) Guidelines

  • Verbalization of the need for additional seminars on sanitation


GENERAL OBJECTIVES:

Increase the number of households with adequate sanitary toilet facilities from 82% to 100% (206 out of 250) in Barangay Doña Josefa, Municipality of Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay by the year 2026.
