Promoting Wellness: Team Doña Josefa Assists Senior Citizen Monthly Meeting with Range of Health Act

Last February 23, 2023, Team Doña Josefa assisted at Barangay Doña Josefa's Senior Citizen Monthly Meeting. The meeting was made more meaningful by the hard work of our NDP and Barangay Health Workers. The event included a range of activities aimed at promoting the health and wellness of our senior citizens.

The activities included mass blood pressure monitoring and random blood sugar taking, which are essential in monitoring the health status of our seniors. Team Doña Josefa also conducted an advocacy campaign on healthy diets and proper exercise, emphasizing the importance of a healthy lifestyle in maintaining good health.

Another advocacy campaign was about Covid vaccination, which is crucial in protecting our senior citizens from the effects of the pandemic. Team Doña Josefa emphasized the importance of getting vaccinated and shared information on how to register and schedule a vaccine appointment.

During the meeting, the seniors were also referred for check-ups via tele-consultation, which is an innovative way to provide health care services while minimizing the risk of exposure to Covid-19.

In addition, Team Doña Josefa updated the Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Club, a program aimed at promoting awareness and management of chronic diseases. This program is an essential tool in addressing the high prevalence of chronic diseases in our community.

Finally, Team Doña Josefa conducted TB tracking, a crucial activity in preventing the spread of tuberculosis in our community. This activity involved screening for TB symptoms and referring those with symptoms for further diagnosis and treatment.

Team Doña Josefa's assistance at Barangay Doña Josefa's Senior Citizen Monthly Meeting is a testament to their commitment to promoting the health and well-being of our community. The various activities conducted during the meeting were all aimed at addressing the health needs of our senior citizens, and promoting healthy lifestyles and disease prevention.
