Mauswagon Chapter

On the first day of our house-house survey, we decided to go to the farthest purok first, which is the Purok Mauswagon. We, team Dona Josefa together with one of the Barangay’s councilors, Ma’am Divina Alimpos, hiked our way to the top of the purok, for us to reach the houses.

It was not an easy road going to Purok Mauswagon, hunger, thirst, exhaustion, and even bodyaches were felt by all of us after hiking for many hours, to reach distant houses, but nevertheless it was an eye opener experience for all of us. We experienced the situation of the people living there, and we can only imagine their tiredness from going up and down the purok everyday to go to school, work, etc.

After interviewing some of the residents there, we were moved of how good these people were, they were very accommodating even though the questionnaires were a bit long, they were real with their situations and at the same time, they were brave and strong people, for not complaining even though they weren’t roads going up the purok, even how slidy and muddy the path once the rain pours, even how hard it is for them to reach help because of the distance of their purok to the center, that's the moment we knew that, their strength cannot be questioned
