5th Community Exposure: Promoting heart health among the youth of Barangay Doña Josefa.
On March 3, 2024, Team DJ embarked on a vital mission to promote heart health among the youth of Barangay Doña Josefa. The team conducted mass blood pressure monitoring specifically targeting 18-19-year-olds, a demographic often overlooked in hypertension prevention efforts. Alongside this monitoring, comprehensive health education sessions were held, focusing on the prevention of hypertension and the importance of healthy lifestyle choices.
The initiative aimed to raise awareness among young adults about the significance of maintaining healthy blood pressure levels early on. Hypertension, often referred to as a "silent killer," can go unnoticed for years, leading to serious health complications if left untreated. By conducting mass blood pressure monitoring, Team DJ sought to identify potential hypertension risks early and provide guidance on preventive measures.
