5th Community Exposure: Efforts for a Cleaner Future
On March 8, 2024, the Zero Open Defecation (ZOD) and Solid Waste Management (SWM) groups joined forces in a collaborative effort to advance their Community Health Plan (CHP) in Barangay Doña Josefa. Together, they embarked on a consultation with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to discuss strategies for scaling up proper sanitation and establishing future partnerships for the Zero Open Defecation CHP.
During the consultation, the ZOD and SWM groups engaged with DENR officials to explore innovative approaches to promoting proper sanitation and solid waste management within the barangay. They discussed strategies for increasing community awareness, improving access to sanitation facilities, and implementing sustainable waste management practices.
In addition to their consultation efforts, the groups also took proactive steps to raise awareness within the community. They provided educational posters on solid waste management, aiming to educate residents about the importance of proper waste disposal and the benefits of recycling and waste segregation.
